Marin's big-girl room

When Stephen and I decided to do Marin's nursery in primary colors I always said that her next room would be "girly". And while I'm glad we went neutral with the nursery, waiting for her "girly" room has been worth it. She isn't moved in yet (nervous about that prospect) and there are some things not included in the picture like the ugly blue and green bed rail. But I thought I'd take pictures now while it's all clean and clutter-free. Stephen and I worked really hard, especially Stephen who put up with me changing my mind constantly. We know now why people don't stencil anymore-it's a pain in the neck! But it turned out beautifully and we know Marin will be able to grow into it.

The bed was a pine color but once we painted the room, I decided that the bed should be white. My wonderful husband graciously relented although I know he was so tired of painting.

You can't see the bedding up close but the entire set (comforter, sheets, sham and all) was $9 at a local consignment shop! Love the deals!

The walls from a distance- purple with a white stripe and stencil.

The stencil up close and personal. Like I said-it was a lot of tedious work and hopefully no one will look too closely but it adds a sweet touch.

That is just way too cute. But isn't it hard when they move up to the big kid bed. I know it was hard for me when Jared moved into his. I will post pics soon so that you can see his new firetruck bed that he just adores. Love you all.

Wow! That was a lot of work! Way to go on getting the deals too. Daniel can totally commiserate with Stephen about having to paint (and re-paint) things to my liking ;-/
