The Big Day (Birthday Round 2)!!

So in all the excitement of our little play date Tuesday and planning a family party for Saturday, I didn't really have much to offer Marin on her actual birthday. But let's be honest, she's 2 and doesn't care so it's more for me anyways. ; )

We started with a "happy face" pancake that was so huge even between the two of us we couldn't finish it off. She thought it was fun and yet another way to have cake for her birthday.

Stephen came home for lunch and we had chinese food which she really likes. While we were out getting it I walked her to Publix and let her pick a balloon. She was thrilled and immediately chose a Dora and Boots balloon with stickers for her name. Well, we didn't get halfway out the door and the balloon popped! It was a bit heart-breaking. She looked at me and said, "broken? fix it?" That's when it hit me that she is going to have a lot of times in her life when things go wrong and Mommy can't fix them. : ( Well, Daddy took the broken balloon with him and came home with a new one!! Daddy is our hero!!

It was a fun day and we'll look forward to many more birthday celebrations with our sweet girl.
